NHS Western Isles

NHS Western Isles – Chair Vacancy

NHS Western Isles provides a comprehensive range of range of acute, mental health, primary and community services.

NHS Western Isles also has external agreements with other Boards, primarily Highland NHS Board and Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Board, for the provision of care to Western Isles residents.

During the 2020 response to the Covid-19 pandemic for the Western Isles, the remoteness and inter-connectedness of local stakeholders are proving beneficial to enable the Western Isles NHS Board to shape its response and services considerably.

NHS Western Isles actively work with a wide range of stakeholders including the Local Authority and Third Sector organisations to deliver shared services. NHS Western Isles and the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar are partners in an Integration Joint Board, (IJB), adopting a collaborative approach to provide a seamless Health and Care service in the islands.
